March 1, 2008, Marie and Dave get some free Soccer tickets to the Werder Bremen v Borussia Dortmund Bundeslige match. Bremen is in 2nd place in the 18 team league and just behind the hated Bayern Munich rabble, hated by most German cities, kinda the NY Yankees of German soccer.
Weather was cold and rainy...more cold and windy though. But, the visitors, filled with vim, vigor and a lot of Bremen's own Beck's Beer, were there in tune to support their team. And to help them with their support and keep the "hoodlums" in line, there were plenty of Bremens uniformed finest to escort the fans back home. Oh, and Bremen won 2-0.
Hope you enjoy the pics and videos of the day. We even threw in a little trip on the street car (Strassenbahn) for you as we got to "stand" in the very front. For game day, they toss in about 10 extra streetcars to ferry fans to and from the game.
