Coming back from the Tagung, we took the country roads on what was a beautiful Saturday. We needed a few items for tomorrow's meal, so what better place to buy them on a late Saturday afternoon (when the stores in Germany are closed) but the open farmers vegetable stands on the side of the road. Here we picked up a little bag of potatoes, freshly dug from the fields with the dirt still covering those little tubors, and fresh sweetcorn. Your choice, 40 cents or 60 cents, just pick your quality. You would just select what you want then pay into the little metal canister next to the shed. Honesty counts here in the farmers´s fields.
